Default '04 Dyna Clutch Opening Observation

Removing the clutch cover for adjustment I noticed that, despite a very large hole, the clutch assembly is very offset toward the bottom of the hole and is assembled very close to the inside wall of the primary cover. I'm assuming this placement is "normal" since the clutch and trans both work well. Just wondering where the engineering/planning went bad to have the clutch assembly sooo far off center in the opening. Anyone else? Thanks.

Jim
