I frequentindependent shops as much as possible to give them my business....to help them stay afloat. Most of them are cool as hell and bend over backwards to help me out. Then I go go to dealerships......the clowns that work there treat you like crap....charge you a ton of money for crap! I park the Triumph thereand people look at me like I'm a slug........."if it aint HD it aint sh$t" ...frickin zombies! VENTING!

Eh - if they look at you bad 'cuz you ride a Triumph, then they don't know diddly about what was once the hottest chop out there. Here's to finding a used Triumph 650 chopped out on Ebay one day. You must live in a crazy place Dizzzy, 'cuz I know all the mech's at my shop do all they can for everyone that stops in. Don't matter if you're just buyin'a t-shirt, either. The manager says hello, and invites you to enjoy yourself looking around at all the old pics he's got up.

Tough luck Diz.
Ain't like that here in my neck of the woods.
Never has been.
78F here today and the HD dealer is good
as are the indys.
Think yourself lucky Dizzzy, over here in the UK we get the crap service, the attitude, and pay twice as much as you guys (service manual is $120!).
The mechanics only get paid a bonus if they complete a job in less than the allocated time so bolts get left untightened etc.
When I was riding back from having my stage 1 kit fitted the air cleaner cover fell offbecause they hadn't done the bolt up [:@]heard all sorts of horror stories, the worst being a fat boy owner where after a service they hadn't done up his front wheel axle nut!! he had a lucky escape.
All this and we get to pay over $10 a gallon for gas []
The day of not treating customers with respect and tact are over. The dealerships must insure that their customer base is taken care of, if not they will not be in business long.In big cities there could be as many as half a dozen dealerships within a 100 milearea.I will not stand for poor customer service from any company. The dealerships which have offered good customer service in the good times will do well in the bad times. The bad ones will be looking for new leadership because the numbers tell the story.
I get ignored most when I walk into Maxim Motorsports (honda shop) followed closely by BMW Cycles in Plano, TX where I purchased my Triumph from. Its amazing BMW Cycles stays open because I hear they off **** poor customer service and if you didn't purchase a BMW you are ignored. My friend swears it must be a front for running drugs because he has been in there twice and NOBODY said anything to him, period!
I find the H-D shop the most welcoming in the whole area!Maybe they see me riding up in a Triumph and know that they could win over some new business? Amazing concept.
