All you neck switch complainers need to make a run on my 94' Low Rider. The switch is down under the seat, (now lowered), by the battery box. I have to scrunch down, get my bifocals aligned, insert the key, go around the other side of the bike to pump the throttle, give it a couple squirts of fuel and hope it starts. Then try again....and again if it is cold. Isn't this what motorcycling is all about? My old 59' BSA A10 had some personality too way back when.I've never complained and figure getting a Harley running is a lot like getting a dog to behave. I suppose all this computer stuff on Harleys is great. Thankfully my 94 is what it is.I have ridden it through the Rockies, the Ozarks and from here to there. But I don't like the igniton switch location and so it is and the neck key would be a welcome improvement
well im glad you hate your key and still live with it. i hated mine and did something about it. computers on a harley dont have anything to do with it.

No it wouldn't be, if you had one. This was a welcome improvement on my FXD:
oilslick did the blackgasket under the switch come with it?
No, it's a 50mm electrical wiring grommet. I had to trim the underside of it next to the mounting lugs though. The switch is held by a tight interference fit only. I was going to use the four mounting lugs but didn't need to. I got my grommet here http://wrightsautosupplies.com/but this is in the UK.
the gent who wrote the detailed article on the swap, had some issues on wiring.... can someone who has done the swap clarify what wire goes where on the new switch... better yet, a photo..thanks
IIRC he used an older type of switch which had several screw type terminals as fitted to older Evos.
If you use the later type with three spade (Packhard) terminals then the wiring is simply one for one. OEM 71313-96 if you have lots of moneyor for example Custom Chrome 17717, same thing for less. Zodiac, Motorcycle Storehouse andothers do them as well.
