Okay, I'm hoping this will become a poll if I do this right. Some discussions on another thread prompted me to throw this out. If you don't have a "significant other" then this doesn't apply to you. How many of you purchase mods for your bike and hide it from your "other"? And if you do, what are the reasons? And, if you don't, feel free to flame the rest of us weak, whipped, sad excuses. This is for fun, obviously.
If you have any funny stories about how you got caught and justified yourself or you barely escaped getting caught, add those in as well.
As for myself, I do it partly because it's almost a game to me to see if/when she'll ever even notice it.You might be amazed at some of thethingsone of you guys would probably notice right off the bat that she'snever said a word about. I think the only thing so far that I've ever done that she actually noticed without me saying anything were my new bars - those are kind of hard to miss. The other part is because everything I buy would cost me double because I'd have to make it up to her. And, by the way, I've spent maybe 2 grand on my bike since I got it back a year ago. But, I've had a year of fun doing it. I'm about to shell out about the same amount of cash, if not more, remodeling a bathroom and kitchen for her. So, it's not like things don't even out over time anyway.
By the way, I didn't throw "other" in there to accomodate the gay lifestyle (not that there's anything wrong with that; of course not). But I do realize we have some female members that might want to participate.
The only thing that comes close...Is one Sunday morning She sent me to the store to get some Bacon so I rode the Bike, Ran into some freinds that were going on a day trip to the beach.. Called her 5 hours later to tell her I decided to skip Breakfast and was in Ocean City Md...
HELL yeah I hide 'em! If she knew the TOTAL she'd freak. If I knew the TOTAL, I'D freak! She gets her fair share in comps though. When I get her something nice, she automatically knows. All works out in the end.

My Molly doesn't really care what I buy for my bike as long as I take good care of her, tell her she's pretty, and get home from riding to make sure there's food in the house -

Ha...sorry for all you poor bastages....my woman cheated on me with another dude while she was in Hawaii...f'em all I say now...or for a while anyways.
I don't tell her about things for many reasons.
First, she wouldn't have the slightest idea what I was talking about.
Second, I work my a$$ off and she sits at home and does nothing except watch TV.
Third, I pay all of the bills and handle the money and know how much I have or don't have.
Fourth and the biggest, is that in the 10 years we've been together, shesold my house (to her sister) for $10k, my Corvette (to another sister's husband) for $6k, gave awayabout $20k worth of jewerly that I bought herto persons unknown, and gave away $65k in cash that she "neglected" to tell me that she had until the IRS sent me a notice to pay taxes on it.
To be honest, I don't give a rats a$$ what she thinks or says (do I sound bitter?)
