This is likely a dumb question and I'm pretty sure the answer is no but....the stock air cleaner on an 06 Super Glide....is it washable or just a throw away and replace? Also, if I went with a K&N, would I need to have the fuel injection remapped? It still has the factory exhaust and factory air intake. Thanks!
I agree with Jay on the need to either remap or put some sort of enrichener on your bike. Hope others will chime in.
Last thing your want to do is burn a hole in a piston.
The stock air filter on an 06 FXD is washable. Page 121 in the Dyna owners manual explains:
"The paper/wire mesh air filter element should be washed in luke warm water with a mild detergent."
Blow dry it with low pressure air, from the inside of the filter,or let it air dry.
DO NOT use air cleaner oil on the Harley-Davidson paper/wire mesh air filter element.
Hope that answers your question.

More than a few folks have posted in here that their
stock air filter melted when they washed it.

Sounds like it is time for a filter poll............... I believe everything I readin the owners manual.
I just put my stock filter back on, after running the K&N full flow kit for 2 years. The stock filter only had about 1500 miles on it, so wasn't in need of washing. Guess I better have a spare ready, before I give mine a bath.
Jay, looks like you may be right about tossing the OEM filter................ anyone else know????
