For those of you with stage one kits and aftermarket air filters i have a question. Would you buy a product that was say $10-15 buck that allowed you to significantly reduce your air filter maintenance?
In addition it would always maintain a higher overall performance curve and increase fuel economy. Also your ease of maintenance will be significantly reduced.
I have found that after a few cleanings of my k&n that the performance and fuel economy has dropped 20%.
The idea is that you would use this product inconjunction with your k&n filter.
I own a air filter company in the u.s. Called straightshot industries and have tested many filters for comparison. In supercross or indoor motocross racing k&n's are popular for airflow reasons mainly throttle response and hp gains.
They are also used in outdoors applications but what we have found out is that after a few cleanings they loose their air flow advantage (tested on our airflow bench to verify) so we created an application that allows you to maintain the dust protection and not loose the performance side.
The idea is inexpensive and virtually allows your $100.00 filter to maintian like new performance.
So i am asking for input from you folks if you think there is a market?
