I have decided on the Nightrain dragbars for my FXDC. My question is the risers? I have searched and have not able to fully answer my questions?
Will a 6" straight rise be to far forward, or will I need to get a pullback 6" riser? With the angle of the forks, the bars should get closer as the risers get taller, but will the 6" straightbe enough?
Also, will stock cables work with either of these set ups? If any of you are running this set up, I would love to see some pics. Thanks in advance.
If I remember my trig correctly, a 6" riser at 29° should get you pretty close to 2.9" of horizontal pullback and a vertical rise of nearly 5.25". Add the pullback of the bars to 2.9" and there you are. Probably quite a bit less than what you have now, my 07 FXDC bars have around 9 1/2" pullback. I have 4 1/2" tall pullback risers and 4" rise, 11 1/4" pullback flat track bars on mine and the stock cables and wires are fine.
It would probably take less time to cut up a broomstick than it did for me to look up the trig tables and calculate the distances. You'd probably get the same results, too.
