Has anybody found a solution to the part listed in the catalog not fitting? There are three options listed, Smooth, Harley Logo, and Skull. the Skulls will fit but the other two options won't as the 08 Fat Bob at least has a larger nut than the 07 and prior. I am wanting to put on smooth covers front and rear. Just curious if anybody has come across anything that works.
I had a big problem with the left rear axle cover. I ended up modding it to fit. I used the gapper from the front nut cover kit and cut it down to fit like a washer between the lock washer and nut in the rear. I then had use some J&B weld to get things snug. I redrilled a hole in the bottom of the cap to line up with the Nut. Then I drilled and tapped a hole in the top to line up with my newly made washer. Thats right, it was a real pain in the *** and took me hours to get it to stay tight. This was the only solution I could come up with. The right nut fit just fine. When I triedthe left nutwithout modding it it was easly pulled off and wouldnt stay due to the downward lip on the nut. Thank god for J&B Weld and a Dremel.
