Default Front pipe bracket

I was sure I'd seen a thread on this before but I can find it [:@]

Has anyone found a way of removing the front pipe bracket (the one that sits under the footbrake lever)?

One of the bolts sits above the frame rail and I can't get to it properly and don't want to round it off.

OK zauk, maybe it's not.

Would you mind posting a picture of the one you are asking about??

I'm ignorant of any bracket under
the "footrest brake side" or "footbrake lever".

The one in that other thread is a bracket that bolts up
to the bottom of the right hand case, below the camchest,
inside of, and a little bit forward of,
the midmount footpeg/brakelever mount.

You need to grind the back end of a torx bit, the end that would go into a socket, get a Ø1/4" closed end wrench (preferably a six point) & remove the torx screw. Be sure you grind enough off the backside of the torx bit so that as you back the screw out you have enough room between the frame rail. It's a bit tedious & awkward getting that 3rd screw out. I've removed mine and my neighbor's exhaust brackets this way. Be patient you'll get it.

If you don't get what I'm talking about I can post a pic of this very simple tool combination.

That would be a real help if you don't mind, I'll tackle most things but I'm not a 'natural' wrencher [&:]

Mud I think we are talking about the same one, my apologies for not being clear enough about it, see above!

Can't get it in the UK and postage from US would probably be more than the tool

Here ya go. The pic with the two torx bits is to show you the difference on how short to grind the back end of the bit. Grind the bit so it is a little under .750" long or right around 18mm in your case would be perfect. You can wedge something in the wrench with the bit to keep it from sliding out or use a screw-driver or something to help hold the bit up into the screw. Like I said it is a very awkward screw to get out so prepare to get on the floor & do some squirming around.
