Default GPS mount

I made a poor man's GPS mount yesterday out of some PVC pipe, hose clamps, mole skin, and a bicycle mount for my Fat Bob. It is not pretty, but is very functional. I'm looking for some suggestions on how to 'pretty' it up a bit, or cover it up. I attached a couple pics for your inventive minds to chew on.

I don't have any suggestions but it sure looks like you did a good job making it fit. Do youhave a way to grab it and take it inside without much hassle or is it attached to stay? Mojo

Working with the design you have shown watie,

Dye the white pvc.

or

Use cpvc schedule 80 which is gray.

or

Go to the clear pvc.

and

Get rid of the radiator clamp, and use a t-bolt type.

The GPS comes off real easy, but not so easy it would fall off; it clips into the bicycle mount which is what is attached to the PVC elbow.

Good suggestions on the different colors/shades of pvc, and getting rid of the radiator clamps. This is just my 'prototype'. My first try at it yesterday vibrated too much, so went with the pvc today. Not sure if I want to spend money on the ram mount yet/or at all, especially if I can make this 3$ fix work v. $30 from Ram. I'll keep working at it; next step will be to make an adapter for my nuvi, which will give better readability for a long trip. The hand held in the picture is good for direction/speed and to show major road intersections coming up, but impractical for the bells/whistles the nuvi offers as far as the touch screen goes - not that I should be touching the screen while riding anyway.[&:]

I second Mud's suggestions. Gotta love good function and inexpensive cost!

Rough up the surface with some sandpaper and paint it black!

Excellent idea/mod, lonewaite!! And with a little tweaking, thanks to the great minds here, you may have a very viable accessory.
