Hello all Dyna owners.

I´m a swedishguy who is going to buy my first Harley after many years with japanese bikes and also a 55 Triumph.

I´m not sure yet what Harley i will buy so i like to hear advisesfrom you Dyna-owners about your experienses of the bikes i choose between.

These are the Night Train (know it´s not a Dyna ), Dyna Super Glide, Dyna Lowrider or the one i think i prefer most, the Fat Bob.

So please tell me about your opinions about these bikes.

And for the record, i read in another thread about your opinion about the prices on the Fat Bob in South Africa. Here in Sweden the price for a Fat Bob is in USD about 27.200, with alarm and in vivid black

Swede - I had a 1957 Triumph 650 40 years ago. Started riding again at the end of April 07 on a 2003 Sportster XLH883 and it was like I had gotten back on the Triumph after a day's rest. Bought the Low Rider two months later and it's much, much better - handles almost as well, can ride for 10-11 hours a day in comfort (I'm 62+) and it absolutely flies.
Good to see you have the color nailed down - excellent choice. Just be sure to try to ride them all. I only sat on a Low Rider at the dealer's and decided that was the ride.

As itileman says you need to ride them to get a feel for them. The softails i feel give a more remote feel with their balanced engines. Also, and now i,m being biased, i prefer the chunkier front end of the dynas with the 49mm forks....... but i,m sure you will love either of the Harleys they are alljust variations on a great theme.
Take your time in choosing and be prepared for a life changing event....... and i don,t mean that lightly.
All the best.

Try to ride them if you can. All the ones that you named ride ever so slightly different. Small differences that you have to pay attention to even notice.

I bought my 2005 Super Glide Custom, knowing that I didn't like or want the mid controls. In fact the day I bought it, I ordered the forward controls from the H-D dealer and put them on about a week later. My FXDCI is the "bike I have always wanted", and I don't think anything could come along to make me trade it in. It does what I ask of it. It is the perfect handling scoot for me. It is scary fast if needed, and there is no scoot that I can park next to that make me feel inferior about what I ride.

Good luck on your decision and your future purchase.

If you still have the 55 Triumph, I'd be interested if it is a 650.

Also, see "Dyna vs. other models" thread in this area for more (bias) opinions.

In case you haven't realized it,Dyna ownersare a proud bunch.

Buy a Dyna and become one of the selected few.

I LOVE my '05 Superglide Custom! If you are into more of an "old school" type of scooter, then the Dyna is for you. I like the looks of the rear shocks and the ride is great as well. There are differences between every Dyna even though they my look alike. I'm not real sure about the '08s, but in the past the Lowrider has had a 33 deg rake while the Superglide had a 28 deg rake. The Lowrider obviously has a lower stance as well. Take the different models for a test drive if you can to see which one you like the best. If you like the Wideglide you'd better get it now because they are discontinued after this year.

Sarge4life - I didn't know that. What are they replacing it with, or have they said.

See swede_1956 - another sign of pure intelligence. Another FXDC rider.

Thanx a lot for your answers.
First, it's winter here in Sweden now so it's not possible to ride anyone from any dealer.
And to be sure i can bye just the model i choose i have to order it soon, Sweden is a small country and don't get so many from the factory. So for me it's to visit the dealer and se which bike i like to sit on. And that's the reason i ask for your advises.

When i visited my dealer last week i was absolutely sure that the Dyna Super Glide was my next bike, but after seen the Fat Bob and sitting on it i'm not sure anymore. I really like that Bob, and i really like the Super Glide, and i really like the lowrider and i really like .......
So now i have some war in my head choosing which bike i will buy.

Is there a big different between the 88 vs 96 engine?

And C66, i don't have my 55 Triumph anymore, and i have read the "Dyna vs other modells" more than one time
