I want new pipes for my 2007 street boband I'm having a hard time choosing. Out of the two (Rush and Cycle Shack) what are thebest sounding and workmanship?
Do you really have to do any thing with the fuel or air filter
Lend me your knowledge and experience!!!!!!![/align]
Rush are better in sound and quality IMHO.
Also look at the cycle shacks any you will notice that they are much shorter in length than the rush slipons.(see how long the Rushes look in the sig below) My rushes really hide the bar connector that connects the pipes well.
I have a carb and I first installed them on my bike before getting the SE stage one air cleaner. That lasted a day. They did cause my carb to start to pop through the aircleaner when I initially installed them and had made no adjustments to the air/fuel mix.
So I love their deep resonating sound and they did lean out the bike a little bit.
You have 3 baffle size choices depending on just how loud and deep you want to go. I have the 1.75 baffles and with the carb now correct man they are deep and loud.
Gordy1... my two cents worth... went with the Baloney Cut RUSH slip-ons (2" Baff's I believe) and Stage One kit for air... both recommendations came that was the biggest bang for the buck I could get HP wise without spending alot of bucks and internal engine work... had dealer install both and remap stock computer... 10K on bike now and it runs like a 'raped ape' ... all the power and sound I could ever want... and need... some popping on quick decelleration, but backing off slower makes it disappear... cheaper than a PC III and Fuel Pack... LOL
I have had the Cycle Shack slash cut slip ons. They were way too loud for me. My ears would be ringing after even short rides. I would compare them to the Rush's with the 21/2 " baffles. I have a set of the older S/E IIs I got off ebay and I would compare them to the Rush's 1.75 or 2" baffles. The quality of the Cycle Shacks were verygood, especiallyfor the price, not sure about theRush's.After my experience, if your gonna do slip ons, I would go with the Rush's over the Cycle Shacks due to the fact if itstoo quiet for too loud you can swap baffles.
Just for info....I have really liked the older Screamin Eagle II's I got off ebay. I cleaned them up and re-packed the baffles and they sound great, the performance is good and they were less than$100 shipped.

what did you buy to repack the baffles? I experimented with my pipes a bit(took out the packin) and when I re packed them I taped them up tighter against the baffle than they were before. I find myself wondering if my repacking had an influence on the sound I now get out of them. I simultaneously richened up the fuel /air as well so I do not really know for sure.
CYCLE SHACKS ALL THE WAY. I HAVE THE BALONEY CUT I GOT FROMA MEMBER HERE.THEY ARE BADASS THE SOUND BETTER TO ME THAN RUSH SLIPS. BUT I LIKE EM REAL LOUD I COULD THROW SOME PICS UP LATER.
Sir Ed,
How did they remap your stock computer? No PCIII or FUELPACKWOW.This is the first I heard about doing that. What year is your dyna? Bike looks great.
