As far as why I think apes look good on bobs and some other dynas... Bobs have a lowered rear end, but maintain ataller front end. Add a tank lift and the line of the bike just begs for apes. Thats why you see more short shots than BR on that type of bike. Again, just my opinion.
I think Devils Haircut is right...the bike looks fast and has impressive attitiude the way it is. I like the apes, but they just don't seem to flow with your bike...to my eye, but it's your bike and you've made it your own. How do you get stuck there for 20 mos? I'll be "visiting" Talil and then up to the northin June, my first time...kind of looking forward to vacationing in beautiful southwest Asia..HOOAH!

Your opinion and mine are the same. I too think they look great on the Bobs because of the reasons you listed.

Tallil is a great base! We have some folks that work down there and I had the opportunity to visit them back in September. While you're there, make sure you go outside the wire to check out The House of Abraham and The Ziggurat of Ur. They're right outside the gate and are on the same property. Also located there are the ruins of an ancient palace as well as some royal tombs. It was one of the highlights of my time here.
I got "stuck" here because I'm non-military. I'm a contractor and am working on my second contract. It's been interesting to say the least.
Hey thanks for the tips...and the good work you guys do over there. Whatever you decide, come home safe. Anyway, the bike looks great...such a small change in appearance makes or breaks a bike. Just like those of us who have to have a 180 rear. Not much a difference until it's on the bike.
The guyI got my bike from said my bars were from a Wide Glide. But every time someone looks at my bike they say how much they like th MiniApes. Are WG bars and MiniApes thesame?Girlfriendin pic
1st off ... i love apes...and that pic/chop of yours w/ the apes is killer!
that being said...i gotta agree w/ most other posters here that the bike has a better effect [overall look] with the lower style bars...is your front end a "mid-glide" in width?
if so... i think these would look insane on your bike... sorta keeping with the "curves" thing you have going on [ pipes, paint etc.]
Ofthose two pictures I like the set up you have now better. There's something akward looking about the pic with the apes.Maybe some apes that aren't so wide would look better. Those look like they belong on a Road King or something.
