I am a huge fan of apes... but your bike just seems to look better (imho) with the stock bars. Or maybe pullback t-bars. With the low flowing lines of your bike, and your choice of VH big radius pipes, I say apes would distort the look.
Maybe save all the green your gonna make in Iraq, and build something cool when you get back. (like a bobber or or cafe racer, or pimped out ice-cream truck.) But your lowrider stands on it's own... don't over do it. Just my opinion though.
As much as I love my apes....I gotta tell ya, your bike with the low bars is one of the slickest looking bikes around. Not saying I dont like it with apes but I like it more without.
Yeah, I agree, it just doesn't look right with Apes. I had them photoshopped on when I decided to change my bars to hide the wiring. I at least had to see what it would look like. I love the look of the stock bars on my bike.

My wife would kill me if I start to talk about building a bike...lol
I don't know what it is about Jakes bike that screams "I'm a low-down bad muthaf#gga", but it looks like it's haulin' *** when it's just parked. Apes will "slow down" the look.
I agree about the apes looking funny on your bike. The BR pipes just don't look right to me with them, they do however look great on a low slung bike like yours.
Isn't that funny how something like the bars or pipes can change the whole look of someone's bike? I'm not really a huge Ape fan, but some of the Bobs on this forum look incredible with them and would so wrong without them. The bars and pipes must be focal points on a bike that automatically draw your eyes to them.

Maybe she should go with you to Iraq next time then, lol. She might understand.
My wife and I will both be going to iraq this year... hopefuly together though. She will want a bike of her own for sure, so I might not get to get a new one for "myself"... just ride "hers"!

Any idea when you'll be getting deployed? I'll be here until at least June and I've been considering a SHORT extension until October. I've already been here for 20 months, it'll be 25 in June. I'm homesick bad, but a few extra months will pay for a new kitchen without dipping into the savings. Now, I just have to convince the Mrs...
