I was at the stealership getting prices for vh shortshots and he said that they kill the bottom end torque?
Is this correct or just bad information? I really like the shortshots and the price is much better than
my other love, big radius. I just don't want to spend 300 and then wished I would have spent the extra money.
Your going to improve over stock....dont think you'll "lose" performance so much as not gain like you would with another pipe. Ive run short shots on both of my harleys and loved them. Wasnt going for performance though. Plenty of us here who have run them and feel the same way. Depends on what YOU want. If you want a certain look and sound then short shots are perfect, if not then pick your poison. Good luck.
your dealer is right you will lose bottom end with short pipes especially if there not baffled.for a comparison pull both mufflers off run it dwn the rd once and see if you can feel the loss and live with it even tho the short shots would be a little better then the header pipes
I love mine. I'm not chasing horsepower though. This bike has more than i'll ever need or use.
They are certainly better than the stock pipes but sure there are better pipes out there for performance, not much back pressure with these short shots.
I will let you know. I get mine tomorrow with the quiet baffles. Have to be better than the stockers. Im hoping the quiet baffles will help a little with back pressure.
