Ok,
I am new here and currently no where near my bike for at least another month, but in anticipation of Daytona, I am putting some bling on the 06 Street Bob.
Want to go with Widow grips, but for the god damned life of me, I can not say yes or no as to the bike has "dual throttle controls" as required?
So, hook a new guy out and be gentle for the silly questions.
If you still have the factory setup you have dual throttle controls. Anything after ~1980 (Gov't regs)came factory with dual throttle controls, i.e., throttle cable and idle cable.
Be careful, changing the throttle grip is not as easy as you might think... Unless you already know your stuff pretty well, you're going to need the repair manual for your model, which will detail your own throttle (usually not covered well in the replacement guide). The other (non-obvious) thing I find useful is a good set of needlenose pliers, including one that isn't abrasive, for grasping the cable, but not fraying the wires.
Finally, common sense, after you replace, ride around some safe areas for at least a few minutes to make sure the throttle is responding properly, and allow you to get back to your shop easily to adjust the tension just the way you like it...
It's not super hard, but it's not like unscrewing bolts either...
