Default Clean Pipes

I had a boot partially melt and leave a couple of black marks on my pipes. Any suggestions how to clean it off. I'm selling my bike and that's the only thing wrong with it. Need to get it off. Thanks

Goo gone will work and I think you can get it at most auto parts stores but I would heat the pipe back up before you do it so it's hot and soft. This isn't the first posting on this and I know there are more ways to do it. WD-40 may even work.

A belt sander will work wonders...................NO NO NO, I was just kiddin.

You can try to peel it off a little when hot, then use any cleaner that is not harsh to chrome, when it cool (I use WD40), after that a little wax or chrome polish to the shields, and you are good 'till next time.......... Sorry you are selling.

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Believe it or not, those little white sponges work really nice.

Go for a ride and get the pipe hot. Tear the sleeve off your shirt and do a quick wipe, or use a rag that won't melt.

Easy off oven cleaner when the pipes are hot. Let it stand for a few minutes and it wipes right off.
