I am in the process of doing the same thing. It seemed easy in the beginning, but the more research you do the more hickups you find. Stock length will work but a lot of people go one or two under especially if you have lowered the rear. You will also need to get a new wheel as springers use a 3/4" axle and the Dyna uses a 1", new risers and bars as springers have a wider spread between the risers, and a new caliper and pads. I feel like I am forgetting something. If I am, I'm sure someone else will add it.
I've done it. It's not a simple bolt-on, but it's not super difficult either. You don't have to buy a new wheel. You can use your stock wheel and replace the bearings with earlier 3/4" ones. The front rim on my bike is the stock one.
