You obviously saw the older version that uses an optional harness for $49. The new units come with the integral harness built in and is a plug and play setup with NO wire splicing at all. Here's a link to them in the DIY section ... HERE

This WAS the optional harness that made it plug and play, but they had problems with the hookups that people were making when installing them on to the unit so they became integral to the unit.
This is the way they come now. If in doubt, when you order one, ask if it has the integral harness. As far as I know, they all come like this now and the cost is $160 in the link furnished above. Ask for Tom.

The bottom picture TCSTD's post is how it comes. I recently installed one. It wasn't bad to install. Someone mentioned in one of the post's to raise the fuel tank and place it on a tennis ball. This worked well in unplugging and plugging the injectors. Just watch your tank going up against the handle bars. Then stuff the unit in under your seat and your good to go.
One more quick items for those in the know. When each of the four stages of the new style techlusion is at 'zero', the unit is doing nothing as if it were not in the circuit at all? They do state that these units can only add, not take away. I'm asking because many here are already running the stage one download and might need .5-2.5 added to each stage to get us where we need to be. I know I could use a shot in the cruise mode of 1-2 points since I do see signs of slight lean surging at slower steady speeds. Just an assumption.

I have a stage 1 down load. I ended up with 2.5 - 3.5 - 4 - 4. I'm going to still tinker a little more. It got cold and I haven't been able to get some trial rides of any lenght done. My mileage was in the low 30's. I'm going to try and bring pot 4 up to 7 and see how the mleage goes. I was happy with the performance. TFI has a website and you can peruz thru. Thats whats nice about the unit, its simple and easy to use.
Great info but I am still interested in hearing opinions regarding my earlier question:
I like the DFO solution mainly because I am not excited about having my bike dyno'd or having dealer techs paw all over my ride. The question I have if the DFO is being touted as removable for dealer service, isn't that detremental to the operation of the bike during the service period? Especially if there was a problem that needed to be diagnosed? I sure don't want to remove the silpons and A/C if the bike requires service although for as seldom as I expect the bike to see a dealer service dept., I guess that is not out of the question.
Thanks again and please bear with me..........I'm old,
Only way of answering your question is you would have to go with a dealer installed unit of your choice and dyno tuning if removing the aftermarket mufflers and aircleaner is a problem if and when service is required.
If you have a DFO and remove it without replacing the stock mufflers and aircleaner, you would be running very lean then and could do some damage if ridden any substantial amount of mileage. Besides It would run very poorly with stock mapping and replacement mufflers and air cleaner.
My FXDI 35 in progress is similar (SE II pipes, SE backing plate and filter, 1550, cams) - except the addition of the 1550 kit and cams. My dealer went with the techlusion aftermarket unit, which has a map for above, and retains the oxygen sensors in the pipes as well.
