Default Fat Bob mid mod

Yesterday I ordered the brackets for mid-range controls. My Bob came with forward controls, which I like, but I also like the comfort of being able to change foot positions on longer trips. The brackets were $100 but I had to order a different heat shield for exhaust that is indented for the right bracket. Has anyone added middies without this heat shield change? By the way the heat shield is $100 which proves that HD stands for hundred dollars. Everything is a hundred dollars at the Harley shop.

someone suggested to me yesterday heel rests for kuryakyn foot pegs - think I'll try those, really like my forward controls.

Thanks. I was thinking of doing the same. I like changing my feet position on a long run. I was wondering what was involved and didn't know about the indent in the shield so it's going to be more expensive than I thought, but what's new.

Had my stealer change the forwards to mids as part of the deal. The shields dont seem to be changed but I will check tomorrow and let you know . The only problem I had on first ride is the brake pedal scuffed the shield when hard pressed. They fitted a couple of washers between frame and bracket and no more scuffing !!

Maybe save some dollars and leave the sheilds till after you fit the mids and see how you get on ....

I guess the dealer swapped the original forwardswith a set of mids from a street bob he had in stock as they are an option over here in Scotland .

Anyway there are no dimples in my heat shields and the clear fine as I said before.

Hope that helps professor.
