Would this work? I'm kind of digging the look and wonder how it would look on my Fat Bob...
On a side note, installed the Dyna floorboard kit this last week and rode to Laconia, what a difference the floorboards made in the comfort department! Install was fairly straightforward, just had to dimple the exhaust a little and notch the heat shield. I'll post some pics later when I get to a computer. BTW, I have forward controls and Vance & Hines longshots.
Because of the forward controls I didn't have to take the primary out and mess with all that stuff. Actually that side of the bike was really easy and took maybe 20 minutes, the other side took a lot longer because I had to keep putting the pipes on and off and once that was done, I had to do the same with the heat shield.
I need to know what is meant by "Too Narrow?" Better yet, can I get the measurements of widths of the fenders at mounting points. I am looking to install on a 2005 FXD. Thanks in advance.

I measured one at the dealer once (drum brake caliper-tool) and it was a little narrower than a standard (ie: non wide glide width) fender - it was either 1/4" or 3/4"...........I want to saw the former but can't be sure. At the time it was a no go for me since I had a 200 tire fitted and would have run out of clearance.
In my opinion your Fat Bob would look good with FL fenders. I have seen Fat Bobs with FL front and rear fenders. Klockwerks makes an adapter kit. Allows you to go switchback or FL softail front fender. I put Fat Bob trees on my Street Bob and adapted an FL fender. I bolted a Switchback rear fender right up to my bike but I think the Fat Bob rear struts would need to be spaced to get the switchback rear on there. Street glide or road glide rear fender would probably be a tighter fit on the rear. Below is a Fat Bob with FL fenders from the FL Dyna group.
Below is my street bob with Fat Bob trees and switchback fender on rear and a blank FL front fender I got on eBay for $99 (with softail deluxe trim added).

on a 2005 FXD, you would need to go with the 2008 and older FLH rear fender. FLD and 2009+ FLH rear fenders are too wide to get between the struts.
