I know what the bike is (i.e. not a sport bike/burner), but I was curious if anyone found any performance numbers. From what I can find; it appears to be a good handling bike with good power and performance. Other than a top speed (110 mph noted in a British article) I have not found any other specifics. I am new to the cruiser world and I am happy with the performance of my VTX 1300 (which is no great performance champion, but has plenty for a single rider; apparently not near as strong as the 1800 version). Went with the Honda since it is what I knew (several way back when; last bike before this one was 21 years ago). Didn't think about a Harley because I never considered a cruiser (originally was going for sport touring ST 1300) and hadn't educated myself on reliability and styles in regard to HD's. Now I find that I love the cruiser and the loud pipes (never thought I would; but love my Hard Krome pipes) and of course find myself wanting a HD. Again, I enjoy my VTX, but want to see if I can swing getting the new Fat Bob (with a miracle happening not to lose everything on my 4 months new VTX). I just want to make sure I can get the same amount of stupid fun (i.e. quick starts, 0 to 60, hwy flying, etc.; all onlyon short occasion for short periods). Again not looking for super cruiser performance just adequate for an old fat dude. Equal to or better than my current bike's performance, plus the better ride, plus "it's a Harley" ='s extra happiness for me (if I can find a way to pay for it all).
Go for the Fat Bob, you won't regret it, I dont know about performance numbers, but I assure youthis particular HDwill offer you plenty of raw torque a metric can never match. On the other hand dont expectthe HD to be as refined or comfortable as the VTX 1300(I own a Metric cruiser & a HD, love them both)
Performance? Buy Japanese. Style? Buy Italian. Never want to smile? BuyBMW. Soul? Buy a Harley. Harley's are sooo much more than simple numbers. If i gotta explain etc...
