Stock mine will do 120,(maybe more, thats as far as I have pushed, ya got to know how to work the gears) thats as far as the speedo goes. After fuel managment, pipes, and A/C I would be disapointed if I couldnt squeeze about a buck n a half out of it, I got 140 outa my old WG and about the same or more outa my FXRP, I figure ya just have to get it set up right. I was coming down from Sherman to Dallas tonight about 6:30 pm and I was running 115 with the ole lady on board. I dont know any spec #'s on perfomance, HD is HD, it's own aminal it is.
Gimme a break. You can't get 150mph out of a stage 1 Harley if you ride it off a cliff...

Actually it was a late yr model 1979 FXWG AMF 4 speed with an S & S b on it. One of the 1st iron head 1340's.
My friend who sold it to me went out and bought another’79 1340, back when the fools were putting 80mph speedos on at the factory. He spent the money and installed a speedo that went to 150 and we went out to see just how fast they would really go. We went up to 402 and busted loose. At 145 +/- mph the speedo cable broke and he/we shut down, I still had throttle left, don’t think I had much more speed left though.
Most or a lot of folks just never really top out their machines, I can tell you the real life top speed of every MC I have ever owned, I may only do it once.(like the a-fore mentioned) but I ALWAYS top out my machines at least once or twice, not on a regular basis though.
Some of those speeds are w me laying on the tank to get the most.
There are a lot of much faster bikes on here than mine, mine at this time is stock w the exception of baffle work.
But I can guarantee you I can get 120, maybe 125 sitting up, maybe 130 to 135 if I lay on the tank, I aint really to interested in laying on the tank these days, but for money or a bet I would do it.
This week I ordered my PCIII and Big Sucker, no pipes yet, I expect to pick up at least a couple maybe 5 to 10 mph,(I’m new to EFI so I'm learning as I go, but I would start to wonder if I’m not wasting money if performance doesn’t increase w each upgrade), I will of course post said results, I love to talk about goin fast

the most i could ever get outta my 84 shovel was about 110ish (with the wind) and that's after we rebuilt/beefed up the motor/drag pipes.

i like to go fast and am juicin up my fxdf to do so but i take my ducati to the local track for top speed fun.

If I remember right, my FLT would only do about 105 with an S & S and fishtails, I only kept that one about a yr, to slow to start out with to screw with, they wont ALL go that fast.
