I don't think that the WG sold as good as you fellas thought. I love mine but us WG'ers are definately in the minority here on this (Dyna) forum. This is more of a Street Bob forum if you ask me.

Topspin - I think you're correct, the WG was not a great seller - especially after the introduction of the SB. In my mind the WG is certainly the Cadillac of the Dyna lineup - however for me - and this is just my opinion - it is/was priced on the high side. The Dyna is the HD entry family to the big twin class. When I bought mine - a SG was $12K and a WG was at least $17K. I wanted a WG - but just couldn't "find" the extra $5K. The SB came along the following year and sealed the fate of the WG - those who may have considered the jump from SG to WG instead made a step to the SB for $2-4K less. And yes - we now live in the Street Bob Forum.

yeah I think for the money more people end up choosing a Softtail custom or night train over the raked wide glide.(similar styling)
The wide glide was my favorite dyna.

If there isn't a replacement for the WG - I may have to head over to the 'custom' side when I'm ready for a new one... That or a Yamaha Raider...

I was also told this is the last year for the Wide Glide, soI bought one...

I wasn't too happy with the lack of choice in colors, but the Duracell is growing on me.

My last bike was a 1995 Wide Glide that I had to sell when we had kids, and I never had any problems with it. Eight years without a bike was too long.

The Wide Glide and the Deuce were HD's two prettiest bikes, IMO. And the company's discontinuing both. Both were different bikes among their respective families. And, if it could be said that Harley had two bikes with elegance, they were the Deuce and WG. (Again, IMO.)

The dealer told me that Harley does this every few years, then brings the bike back--like the Softail Custom. [sm=angrymail.gif](Stop jacking the *&%#$@ price up for the same bike, though.)

I got the tall sissy bar for my ol' lady, we used to do a lot of 500 mile day trips and she likes the support. I still have my old T-bag that is made for the tall upright so I bought one for this bike.

The windshield and saddle bags are both detachable, I'm leaving them on now because of "winter" weather (in Phoenix). I ride home from work at 1:00 in the morning and the windshield helps. I keep the leathers in the bags while I'm at work.

Now my wife is getting ready to take the Riders' Edge course and get her M/C license. She's still trying to decide which bike to get.
