Hey all. I'm new to the board. I'm lookin to put ape hangers on my 03' FXD. Does anyone have any information about that? I heard that they can look a little odd on the narrowglide. I was thinkin of 15 inch or so. Right now it's got drag bars with 9 inch risers. What size risers would be good. Anyone with pics out there let me know...
They are a little off with the narrow forks, but I'll get the wide glide fork kit eventually. Try the search feature at the bottom of the forum page and you will find tons of info. I love my 15" chubbies!
Stock risers with 13" apes were the ticket for me. Puts my handsjust about shoulder height which works well. Mine aren't too wide at the bottom as to make them seem out of place.
I love my apes. They are 15.5" and my hands are just above my shoulders, but I slouch pretty bad when I ride. Just look around for some bars that are narrow, they'll look better and I think narrow bars handle better too.

I did mine this past week end. First day was about 4 hours of prep. , draining and removing tank, removing old bars, taking apart electrical connectors.
The next day was about a good 8 hours of work which consisted of drilling out new bars ( iwent with same size black ) and internally wiring them, relocating directionals,
installing new poly bushings , chrome swith covers , black mirrors , black control levers and reinstalling tank. It will take you a bit longer due to the need for longer brake , clutch and throttle cables. Good luck
I will Jay. Problem is I haven't taken any yet. I was waiting for a nice day to take a ride and take some with a nice back ground for my sig now that I done.
I did however take some when it was ripped down.
