Dyna SUper Glide Custom and Screaming Eagle
Hi,
I got some questions about the screaming eagle for my 2008 Dyna FXDC...
1- If I just get the Slip On Screaming Eagle Slip On Muffler Slash Down - is this enough to give me a nicer rumble than stock muffler?
2- Is this the only part I need to get? do i need other parts in order to install it?
3- Can I install it by myself or should I do it at the dealer?
I am not looking for loudness, I just want a nicer rumble while cruising and to somehow get motorist around me to know I am there...
Thanks guys.

Welcome to the forum. You will get as many different answers to this question as you would if you asked about the best brand of oil.
Yes, the Screamin Eagles will give you more of a Harley Sound. If they are the best choice or not is a matter of opinion. I do know there are cheaper choices which also sound good. A lot of guys put new mufflers on and shortly down the road end up doing a full exhaust.
If you change the mufflers and not the air cleaner, you are good to go. No other work is needed. Most will say, when exhaust and air cleaner is changed, then you need fuel management tuner.
You can easily change the mufflers yourself if you have the mechanical ability to change the oil in your car. There are four bolts on a bracket to remove, then two exhaust clamps, thats basically it. You may want to pick-up a couple new clamps so you can crank em down tight and prevent leaks installing the new mufflers.
If you do a search using the menu at the top of the page, use the keyword "muffler" and you will get pages and pages of information. As questions arise in the future, the search feature is usually considered before posting in the forum. Saves you, and other members a bunch of time.
Good luck!

+1 to above also definately buy the clamps.
May want to purchase service manual from the dealer as well. A wealth of info. that will save you big money on labor costs in the future as well as on the exhaust.
Thanks guys...
Great info...
I actually did a bunch of searches but did not have the word muffler in them. it was mainly screaming eagle, dyna super glide custom etc etc...
Thanks again.
