Default Tacho question for Mudpuddle

Mud,
I really like the Nightster setup you posted, and wondered if you got pricing on that particular setup.
Also, in general terms. Have you looked at the possibility of using any of the VROD console setups??

Anyone else with knowledge is more than welcome to throw in on this Q.

Sorry I missed this before Doug.

The NightSter setup is still a conceptual design.
I'm working on it. Pricing will be way up there.

Haven't thought about the vRod consoles, but that's an interesting one.
If it had the tach in the center, it would be more appealing to me.

Next time I go to the showroom, I'm gonna have a look.

I'll should be in the dealers this afternoon and take take a closer look see at all the bikes.

I really never considered a lot of this stuff is interchangeable, with minor modifications.
That Nightster setup is the ****, so far of everything I've seen. If only $$$ wasn't involved

Thanks,

DougJ

Doug,
make note of the riser mount spacing on the vRod
as compared to the Dyna spacing.

will do. As memory serves........ the vRod has what looks like 4" risers. but I'll check and ask.

Wish me good luck, first ride since last time I got run over.... Hope I don't end up like my great uncle Bill, he used to blow the car horn at everything within a quarter mile of him.......... what might walk out in front of him, pull out in front of him, jump out in front of him.......... you get da picture? He was fun to ride with, though.

OOOOOOOOOOOOH Yeh!!!!!!!!!!!!!................ Make note of the riser mount spacing!!![sm=chairshot.gif]
I think it is the same as ours(looks it), but did NOT measure.[sm=guilty.gif]

I just started a reading comprehension course........ Page 1 explained that we tend to read what we want things to say sometimes. Then it said make sure NOT to skip Page 2. Page 2 and 3 were missing, and Page 4 is about skimming over information quickly.[sm=bangbang.gif]

I will be back at Grove's tomorrow, and double check.

Left gauge is Tacho, center is Speedo (150 mph), right side is fuel.

Approximate cost of the setup is $510 for the gauge cluster for the NightRod + the housing (we couldn't get a breakdown on that?).
Looks like the whole deal would be under $700, new.
Guess I'm hoping Trotter has one laying around his garage??[sm=laughingsmilie.gif]

Different riser heights (not to be confused with SPACING), depending on model riser height is 2-5". The NightRod has the 2" risers, and isall black.
Didn't realize your setup pictured was just a concept, but I am sure your mentioned that, when you first posted it awhile back...... I think my course gets into remembering comprehended information, in Chapter 2.[sm=bs.gif][sm=helpout.gif]I think the name of my course is "Read What The He// You Wanna", and was written by a nice fella that just came to the States via the Rio Grande.[sm=insomnia.gif]

Sorry about not gettin the mounting distance, but I had NOT a lot on my mind, and they were trying to sell me that RoadKing, today.
Glad I got outa there for a mere $97.85 + the cost of a cup of coffee.[sm=rolleyes.gif]

Mud,
Couldn't get to HDD today (pooring friggin rain), but did call. Nobody knew fer sure on the riser spacing. Jeff, back in service measured center to center on the riser bolts as 3 1/4". Gotta remember he is in a tight space, and upside down. Gotta feeling it is same as ours (I measure 3 1/2).
From what I have been able to glean off the handlebar sites, it's more than likely 3 1/2"..... Sure ain't 2" or 5".

Going to ask the guys over at the VROD forum, but don't expect an answer immediately........ they must all have jobs
