Default Tank Badges

What type and where would I get the double sided adhesive for applying new tank badges?

3M double sided automotive tape, comes in various widths at most auto parts stores and I believe WalMart carries it too. Comes with a red backing.

Does it have any thickness like a foam layer between the adhesive sides? I am making my own badge and I didn’t want to cut them to the curvature of the tank. Hopefully I can bend them to close to the correct shape but I may need a little help from the tape.

Not much thickness, maybe 1/8 inch, better to bend the badges slightly - you really don't want thick tape or the wind could catch the badge edge, best to get tape mounted just inside outside edge of badge so it hugs the tank.

Agreed - I have 'replica' tank badges I bought from HD. The tape the kit comes with is pretty thin - it didn't have any built-in bend to it, but adhered to the bend of the tank just fine. And strong as hell too...barely touched the tank and it was on FOR GOOD.

sweet badges. Care to tell how you went about getting them produced?

What material?

What sort of vendor / craftsman?

Cost?

Thanks.

Very cool badges! Ditto on wanting info - cost, supplier, etc. Just curious.

Very, very nice. GREAT job and idea.
I’ve not seen custom made metal badges.
