Found a safe spot to set my tank out of the box.
Wife will never find it here, I should of thought this sooner.
I stuck it in the pantry where the pots and pans are, she'll never find it there!

I hide stuff from my wife by the cook books and the cleaning supplies. Hasn't found a thing yet...
I usually get up in the middle of sex to hide things from my wife. I am just careful not to wake her up or knock the TV remote out of her hand. She never knows......clueless I tell ya.
3M trim and emblem tape is the right stuff, but trimming to fit the emblem will be a pain. The entire back should be covered, leaving the release film in place, and then trimmed carefully with a razor. Then apply...carefully. You get one shot. Start at a corner. Use a locating template if possible.
If you haven't got a locating template, getting the badges both straight and even on each side is surprisingly difficult (the big smooth area of the tank has few features you can measure from).
I put my bike on a scissor jack (so it's sitting upright) outside in an area I could stand back and look at if from different angles. Stuck the first badge on with blue-tack and played around with it until I was happy with its position. Marked around it roughtly with small bits of blue painters masking tape.
Then, took various measurements using a cloth measuing tape (eg from the speedo down, from the front and rear mounting bolts, so I could place the other badge in the same position on the other side.) Again put the two badges on with blue-tack to eyeball them. Worth taking your time here as the two-sided tape can't really be un-stuck once it's on.
Marked the second badge's final position with the blue painters tape, gave the paint a wipe with windex, and stuck the badges on.
