quick question guys.. do you still need to install the entire docking hardware kit and then just replace the two bolts with the turn signal reloaction bars? This is what I figured but I wanted to check.

It actually moves the turn signals back maybe an inch, they are still on the side rail. They stick out a little bit more and are used as the latch point for the sissy bar.

It was a point of concern for me as well when I was told I would need one for the detachable bar, because I do not like the turn signals back by the tail light look either.

The signals were moved back about an inch with the relocation kit.
I think that it's avery sturdy and well made setup.
Or my wife and daughters would never sit onthe back of the bike.
By my choice, Period.
It's one thing for me to go into harms way... Numseh?

It took me about an hour to install the kit. And I am very pleased with it.

BTW, as was said previously, you will also need the docking hardware.

time for my 2 cents i have the kit on an 08 superglide custom i love it because the bar is only on when wifey is. I dont know if you are a newbie but harley gives pretty good instuctions with their accessories. But i put the bike on a jack and took off the rear shocks and pumped it up 3 inchesplenty of room to cut and splice. Do it yourself and take pride in your mods. Good luck henry

my 2 cents worth...dont go with the Harley kit! looks like 2 olives on a toothpick! I ordered and should have on soon a mlayback plate with relocated turnsignals from www.greatbikegear.com
Check this out first..I had the Harley kit on my last bike and hated the look. You will need longer bolts to hold the detatchable sideplate on..the dealerships have this. and i will post a pic of the new plate/turn signal in a few days.

I used the basic HD relocation kit when i put on a set of bags. It is ugly and i'd like to change it out, but not sure what i'd use.

That's not a bad looking kit, but it's got so much of that ugly chrome all over it.
