Default Turn Signal Relocation Kit

I have an '07 Street Bob and was looking into putting on a detachable sissy bar for the wife. HD's website says that you must use the Directional Relocation Kit (p/n 53968-06B). Has anyone used it? How does it relocate the signals? I really don't want to have to move them back onto the license plate bracket, that looks so tacky. Thanks for the info!

I don't know why the call it a relocation kit, all it does is replace the existing stalk hardware that allows for fitment of the detachable sideplate hardware. The actually location of the signals stays the same.

Here are some pics of what it looks like installed on mine.

DEPENDS ON THE RELOCATION KIT #. MY DEALER TOLD ME ABOUT A RELOC. KIT AND THEY SHOWED ME THE ONE THAT ACTUALLY RELOCATES THE SIGNALS TO THE LICENSE PLATE. AND IMO THAT KIT LOOKS LIKE CRAP. I HAVE THE SAME ONE AS 2007FXDC

I'm 99% sure the part number he has is what we have on ours. It's the only one listed in the P& catalog on page 172 for the dyna detachable sissy bar. He also needs the docking hardware, P/N 53961-06. I don't know what the B designates on the end of his part number - unless it's available now in black. That isn't shown in the catalog but it's the same part number without the B.

There are actually two different relocation kits for the quick detach sideplates. One if you are going to have saddlebags and one if your not. The one with saddlebags requires you to move the t/sigs. I have the one for quick detach w/o saddlebags.

The part number above, sans the B on the end, specifies "w/o saddlebags".

Dawg, just be aware of what is out there and get the one shown in my pix if you don't want the license plate option. The part number you have looks right except I don't see any reference to the "B" on the end in the parts catalog.

You could always juts get a plug and play sissy bar instead of goingthrough the relcoation bit. All depends on what your looking to do.

Ok, great...that's what I was hoping the kit looked like. It doesn't look like too much effort to install, maybe just cutting and resoldering the wiring for the signals. These extensions look like they may be a bit on the flimsy side.....will the detachable sissy bar be stable? I surely don't want my load falling off the back.
