Good job. Nice to see you get it done so both lights can work like here in the US. I have always hated (don't know why...just do) seeing one headlight on on those metric bikes so I can understand your pain. Excellent mod and I think those lights look great.
Is the UK version different from the US? I installed the FB twin headlight on my Wide Glide and both lights are always on simultaneously. They both switch from low to high beam.
Yep - certainly is.
When I first saw the ads for the fat bob i thought it loooked real mean with the twin lights on.
Ordered mine - dealer didnt have a demo model - and when it arrived one side was main & one side was dip - apparrantly its to conform with some new idiotic law over here.
The wiring and reflectors have been made in such a way that you cant just convert to twin filament bulbs.
Bet moco come up with a custom conversion soon though - cos n one I`ve spoken to likes this one on, one off set up.
Wiggy - thanks for the closeups. I was wondering how using the stock mount and spacers would work. Looks like a well-done job, and probably looks really good with the lights on (hint), also. Anyway, thanks again.
What brand of light are they?
We have the same problem down here in Australia and I will be looking to change my lights when the Fatbob gets here in april.
I don't think this has anything to do with the law here in the UK. My mate has a new Triumph Street triple which he bought just before christmas and the the lights both work on that. I'll probably do the same and bin the original lights. You shouldn't have to do that with a bike costing so much money. It's a heap of crap.
Same here in Aust, the Triumphs and some crutch rockects run double headlights. Not sure how I will address this problem yet, one way is to sorce lights from England or here as the US ones will be biased the wrong way. It's all good info that is posted here.
I certainly hope it's not a heap of crap!! Hope it goes good, from what I have heard it does. Some of the design flaws for non US models leave a bit to be desired though.
Sorry, I didn't mean the bike is a heap of crap because I don't think it is. I was expressing my annoyance with the fact that I've paid a lot of money for something that doesn't work the way I think it should. Why fit two lights when only one works.
It's like one of those scooters the Mods ride about on. Loads of lights that don't work. Perhaps the next useless styling change will add a few mirrors.
