My primary bearing was bad, started making noticeable noises around 2000 miles. The tranny held up fine until 18K. the day I rode it 100 miles to the stealership the bearing and race had disappered into the tranny oil as "coloring".
What I guess I'm tryin to say is that you will know by the sounds if you have a failed bearing. If your tranny oil turns silver, the bearing is gone. When the tranny oil turns gold, the bearing is no longer an issue..... the race turns the oil gold.

Took me 2 years to get the buttheads to replace my bearing for me. If they had listened to the customer (me), the dealership could have saved themselves some money, and kept a customer.
Oh sorry that turned into a rant
If you're not hearing noises with tranny in nuetral, and the clutch lever is released then you don't have a problem with the primary bearing.DougJ
First and second keep the second to tour self , or ?????
