Has anyone out there purchased and installed the engine chrome kit ? I can turn wrenches but I am just a little leary. I searched the forum but turned up nothing.
My wrench just installed one on my bike. If the search function was working you could look up the trans door change. I think that is the hardest piece to install. Also, my cam cover plate had to be taped out because the chrome had filled in the threads. Doesn't look hard just time consuming. Good luck ! I think the trans door change was on this forum a few days ago.
I did it on my 03 FXD and it wasn't difficult. You will need some special tools to get at some of the rocker cover bolts because of the lack of space under the frame. J&P sells a set of alans that are short and will help make it easier.

Jus finished my rocker box chrome bolts this weekend. No need to get the special shorty allen wrenches, just cut about 1/2" off the shorter end of the wrench. I did that with a Dremel tool and a cut-off wheel, took about 30 seconds and works very well and the best thing, the wrench is still perfectly useable even with the shortened end. Take your time, the rearmost bolt on the back cylinder is a bitch, no matter how hard you try and that was even with the tank off.
