Haven't heard them on a TC, but both of the Sporters we also have in our family have them. They are definately loud! Much louder than the SE IIs on my WG or the V&H Ovals on my UC. They sound great but again they are definately loud.

Just put some on my 06 wide glide. Switched out my drilled out stock set up. Put in quiet baffles before I installed them. They are quite loud. Not bad at idle but crank it up and they bark! Regained low end torque too.

Check out the S&S mufflers as well. They are a performance upgrade.

No re-tuning unless you change the intake, or go with full exhaust system

I had them before I got my Big Radius and they were either loud for slipons or the BR's are quiet for straight pipes, haha, because they sound very similar at startup, idle, and cruise. The BR's will outbark them when you twist the throttle but the Straightshots definitely hold their own for slipons. I also liked the way that the SS's were the same diameter as the headpipes making them look almost like straight pipes with 2 piece heat shields.

I had SE II's at first and didn't do anything about the ECM and it seemed to be fine. But, I had a little popping when I installed the SS's so I went ahead and decided to be safe and upgraded the a/c to a stage 1 and added a fuel manager. The SS's run very open with respect to baffles compared to a lot of other slipons. The pipe is not as big around as other mufflers but there is hardly any baffling in them unless you install the extra quiet baffles. Schools of thought still seem to be 50/50 on whether or not you should do anything else to the bike when you run high-end slipons. Some will say yes and some will say it is not necessary. Since there was no consensus, I took the safest route and did it anyway. Here are a couple of pix of the SS's installed. It's not a wideglide but maybe it will give you some idea.

Have 'em. Love 'em. Loud. I added the SE Stage I AC and SERT at the same time, and had it dynoed. Made a big difference over stock.

I was told with slip-on mufflers you should try them first.
If all is well there’s no need to do anything else.
That worked for me on my last bike and slip ons.
Seems however that all bikes and slip-ons a created equal.
