Default dyna or softy

ok where to start,I have a 05 dyna superglide custom.
I really like the bike, but am thinking of a fatboy or heritage.
I have heard the dynas are easier to ride.
anybody give me some input on this.
again dont get me wrong i love my bike, and my wife really likes it.
i just dont know about long rides for her on the dyna.
i know alot of stuff and not much of a question but again any input would be great.

...tough Call. IMO if you take a lot of "roadies" with the wife, then buy something like a Heritage Softail classic. The Fatboy to me is sharper looking, but you don't get the bags, and windshield if your taking the trips. I don't take long road trips so I bought a 2008 105th Anniversary Lowrider. It was all about sportiness to me, but still having something that handles well and turns heads. I'm not into baggers personally , and would rather take the car if Ineeded to take that much stuff along on a ride. But what do I know..lol...Dyna's are just what I like.

The wife and I put 10000km on my Dyna T-Sport last summer; her first season of riding with me. Had a Road King for a day and she liked the optional tourpac/backrest and desktop-sized windscreen but the Dyna rode and handled better. I'm sure you'll both be comfortable on whatever big twin you prefer, if you have the right accessories.....

We do ride the 05 super glide i have now and she says she likes the ride.....i think its the vibration she likes any thats another story.
i do have to say that it is very easy to ride.
this is our first harley btw.
the longest ride she has been on is about 50 miles so far....but am planning on alot of rides this season..i got the bike in september so havent had the chance really to get on the road to far.
really i cant complain its a dyna sglide custom only had 5000 miles on it and got it for 11,000.00 well i think it was a good deal.
will post pic soon

what are you looking for in a bike ... for two up get a bagger... Road king .....the softtail heritage is nice but I have yet to see one over 2 years old without their bags all messed up here in Florida....The Fatboy rocks yet is not any more versatile than the bike you have.

+1 with the above. If you wanna be sure could you hire a Road King or Fatboy for a day or so, might make your mind up.

you can put just as many miles on a super glide. as you can a soft tail.

I'd wait a full season of riding your current bike - likely will suit you guys fine, but if not first think about changing out the seat and a windshield to give you some more comfort on longer rides. Given today's market, I'd keep what ya got and put some miles on it until it proves unsatisfactory, then look at the Road King not the Softail - Softail won't buy ya much if anything over the SG Custom. And another year won't reduce the price on your '05 Custom that much since it's already taken the big depreciation hit. JMHO.

Chipstah gave some good advice; A decent windshield, a Sundowner seat, maybe a detachable backrest and a pair of bags and your good to go. Should find them cheap if you can find used. Try an overnighter; draw a circle with a 200mi radius from your place on a map and see whats available.....that's what I did for the wifes first trip last spring and now after a few trips and a couple of weeks on the bike she wants to go to Sturgis!
