ok you may think l'am stupid but this is my first harley,are the threads on the nuts and bolts metric or unf

Id have to look in the service manual, but i believe there are some metric parts on the brake calipers and fittings.

just looked at my SM and NOTORIOUS1 is correct...there are some 10mm bolts on the brake calipers and probably other places as well butmany are Standard SAE Socket head bolts...why are you concerned with the threads?... fine or coarse take the same wrench...:&gt

talking to one of the old fitters at work yesterday and asked the question are imported harleys(to the uk)metric threads or what we call imperial and he said l'am sure they are imperial,l want to replace the torx heads with allen screws which l can get for nothing but they are in metric thread

UNified Fine and UNified Course refers to the threads per inch on the bolt. A UNFBolt of the same size will have more TPI than the same size UNC Bolt. Both are used dependant on application. bolt-on items or engine parts.

So far I have foundthe odd 10mm Allen Bolt here and there.
