I'm sure some has come up with this already. I am replacing the OEM headlight on my scooter and wanted to replace the mounting bolt with a stainless steel one but wanted a polished one. I bought the bolt, cut washer, lock washer, and hex nut and threw them all in a brass polisher that ammo reloaders use to polish their brass prior to reloading. I just used walnut shells and let the thing run a couple of hours. Everything came out pretty well. Not too bad for a first try. I'm sure if I used a finer grit and let the thing run for several hours I would have a really nice shine. Be curious to see if anyone else has tried this and what their results were.
