Chipstah, I do like the looks of your bike especially the wrapped pipes but mine is cobalt blue and blue wrapped pipes would not look good. I noticed that you only have the one seat like mine. I bought my bike because of the olde style one rider. My wife stated that she was not going to ever ride it with me (she thought that would bother me) but I like the time alone. Great scooter therapy.
Thanks Luther, but I don't know, some gray wrapped pipes might look pretty tasty against the cobalt blue !! That is, if the spirit ever moves ya -
Yup, solo is good therapy - sounds like you got a keeper there in the wife! Just watch out, she'll be wanting her own soon.
You'll be sorry you posted that message[:-] For sure the Harley Accessory police (a/k/a Chrome Consultants) will be tracking you down for a major wallet whooping. How dare you not fall into the trap of buying thousands of dollars of overpriced, overseas parts from a dealer who would likely not know or care what your name was unless you spent thousands of dollars on overpriced, overseas parts secured from Global sources?
Actually, congrats for not being sucked into the hype about "personalizing" you ride. If you like what you have, more power to you and think of all the $$$$ you'll save. Look at it this way, by keeping your bike stock, it's probably going to look different than all the blinged out trailer queens that go from Starbucks to Starbucks on Friday and Saturday.
(Man, I need to switch to decaf earlier in the day) [&:]
Either this post was an attempt at humor or the bike in your profile pic is not yours - which is it??? LOL
Just because some of us "fell into the trap" doesn't mean we trailer our bikes to Starbucks. Yep the parts are overpriced and just because they say Harley Davidson on them doesn'tmean they were made in the USA. What is anymore? I remember the days when WalMart used to brag that everything they stocked was made in the US. But, have you checked their inventory lately? At least none of it is overpriced though.
Nobody sucked or hyped me into buying anything. I did it because I wanted to.
Ditto !!!! I don't really know what your rant is about ????
Does anyone have a sense of humor any more?
Of course it was not meant to be taken seriously except the point that it is his bike and should do whatever he wants to with it, be it stock or blinged out. And yes, I've busted the budget on my bike on occasion, seems we all do at some point.
And yes, the sig picture is my ride, bling and all.
I gave you the benefit of the doubt that it was attempt at humor and yes I do have a sense of it or I wouldn't have mentioned it as a possibility. However, there are some lurking around here that would say exactly what you did without a tongue in their cheek. For them, and for you in case you were serious, I added the rest of my 2 cents.
Seriously man ... any time I start looking at the forum I take every post with a "grain of salt." People who get their "panties in a wad" over forum posts need to get a life. Whisky Tango Foxtrot, over??!
Glad you like your ride ... I was looking at a post yesterday debating the relative merits of mid- vice forward-controls. It was starting to get way too heated!
I thought I'd feel more in control with mids and was initially hesitant to change to forwards; but, since riding several thousand miles in all traffic conditions with forwards, I do not feel that I lack control or would reap any benefit from having my feet directly under me. I keep my head on a swivel and am always anticipating what my "out" is.
My bike is pretty much bone stock except for mini-ape hangars and forward (floorboards) controls. Not by choice so much as default, but I do like the way it looks. In my minds eye though, I can see what it will look like in another two years and $5,000!!
Thanks for all the post. I did not mean to stir up a lot of "S" but got great info from all of you. I was reading a post about fingerless gloves. There were people arguing about to wear or not to wear.
That is what is great about this country that people can disagree and not have any problems but in the end get along and not be afraid of any retaliation or reprisal fromothers.
Everyone have a blessed day and remember the ones that are fighting to protect us and the ones that have given the ultimate sacrifice and say a little prayer for them.
Luther If your happy thats all that counts. Some people like to modify and it all is ok with me I like stock looks but i have seen some bikes on here that also look great. I dont think mods are done to hide anything just a way to express your own opinion
