On my dyna the engine is black in colour but the "fins" on the the Heads are polished.
Over the course of the winter the salt has blemished the polished look on the heads.
Does anyone have any tips on how to bring them back up to tip top condition ? one guy i know suggested wire wool but i am a little relucatant to use something so harsh.
I clean my bike after every ride but working 12 hour shifts sometimes its left up to 14 hours between cleans which is when the damage has been done i think.
have you tried some never-dull on the fins? granted that might get on the black finish, the use a scrub brush on the black to get rid of the never-dull residue. Good Luck.
280-320 sand paper. What you are seeing is pits, and unless you get them out it will never look good. Wrap the paper around a flat object so sandpaper won't slip in between the fins. Ron
