the metal, do you not have the auto tune module for your thunder max? Granted, I don't know a lot about it, but I'm wondering why you mention not having the right map, when I thought you just needed a baseline map in theballpark and that system would learn the rest.
yes, that's right. map #319 is the closest but it did not take into consideration the hotter cam and the heads so a custom "baseline" map is required.

I hope this information has provided some input to the original poster's request! There doesn't seem to be much interest in higher output motors around here though.

I agree Metal...too bad because its not that hard to build one of these motors...and the fun factor goes up by 10 with a high output motor!

hey guys, new to the forum here. i just purchased a 2008 fat bob and had the 103 build before picking up the bike. based an a friends 2003 low rider with a 95 stage ii, i would say the 103 is well worth the cost.

mine is a 103 with the following:

se acr heads
se forged pistons
se 211 cam
se 50mm throttle body
python 2n2 pipes
hd race tuner

dyno numbers came out 103/108 - to say i am pleased is an understatement. the bike flat flies and is extremely rideable in traffic (which is why i picked the 211). i haven't noticed any heat problems, but the engine has been tuned. hope this helps.

Impressive numbers. I'm still up in the air about this.

i would pass on the 103" then.

it's an expensive upgrade, it would suck to do it when you are not sure if it is right for you.

Okay, I have a question. How would it be "not right for you"? Too much torque? Too much power? Harder to handle? Just curious as I am thinking of doing this eventually.

i would say it's "not right for you" if you are on the fence after reading posts like the ones above and elsewhere, such as latus, much more interest in high output motors over there.

unless money is absolutely not an issue, i cannot suggest spending a few grand on something that is hard to decide on after all this.

better to wait.

I'm hoping I can find one that I can ride and try out to get a better feel for if it is something I really want to do. Knowing me though, it probably will be. I know I like it when I just tap my accelerator on my Magnum and it snaps your head back! LOL I like that kind of response. To be honest though, my Bob is pretty responsive "as is".
