OK, what is Stage 1 (I'm guessing air intake?) and SERT? How do they go about doing a custom dyno tune? Is that just computer tweaking based on dyno numbers or is there something more to it?
Denim Black FB
$14,000 no freight / no set-up. After tax, tags, and doc fees = $15022 Out the Door.
Tried to get the1000 mile service thrown in but no joy - did get 20% off parts and materials.
Think itwas a pretty fair deal, however it was the middle of January andsnowing the day I pulled the trigger - so maybe they were willing to do more than the MSRP song and dance. Was at the dealer today (free hot dogs) and talked with the sales manager and he said he only has 4 more FB's allocated for the rest of the year and he is selling them before they even arrive - said the same about the Softail Cross-bones and Rockers. I saw a cross bones on the show floor but no FB's or Rockers -take it for what it is worth. I think they will have their Spring rush and then it will be interesting to see what the story is with the economy, etc. come mid to end of summer.
Regarding the heat issue, I wouldn't know as I have yet to ride the bike (waiting evermore impatiently for Spring) here. It is troubling to hear about the bikes running wayhot. If enough of you folks with seat time think the bikes arerunningtoo hotwe should keep a thread dedicated to the "heat" issues up on top so folks see it vs. having buried in a thread like this - Just a thought? What the heck is a SERT and/or a race tune going to do to address heat issues? More power = more heat right?
One of the explanations behind the heating issue is the fact that the engine is running to lean. The SERT is one way of making the engine fun richer and therefore cooler. That is the way a SERT and/or a race tune is helping the heat issues.
I'm not seeing where your located but here's a dealer in Ohio that sells for msrp with free freight and set up and has a red and flat black fat bob in stock. I'll be buying a new street glide there in May. I'll go there whenever I'm in the market for a new scoot.
