Can I ask what "Clunk" are you talking about? I just upgraded to a 2007 FXD (from a '91 FXRS) and am sometimes hearing a "Clunk" when I hit a semi decent bump. Can not tell if it is coming from the head or if it's the clutch cable.
I brought the bike in and told them about it, they claimed to of tighten the head, but on occasions I can swear I hear something. Unlike my other bike, everything pretty much "Clunked", so this is definitely distinct...

Thanks!
There is a new washer out that holds the torque on the steering head. But first check your jiffy stand to make sure the rubber piece on the frame is contacting it when in the up position. That also makes a clunk.
It's a 1 1/2", and I'm having a hard time finding one for a 1/2' drive torque wrench. I checked Sears, Lowes and Home Depot yesterday with no luck. I didn't even see one on Snap-On's site. I have a 1 1/2" box wrench that I use for the ball on my trailer hitch, but I need to be able to check the torque on it. I'm waiting for my new washer to come in by the way.
Did you say you have a 1" 1/2 Box wrench you use on yer Ball's ? LOL

I just bought a set of 1/2" drive sockets at Sears last week for $19.99. The 1 1/2" socket was the largest of 5 and they have the size laser engraved in them to make it easier to read. Real nice. I think they may still be on sale.

DynaDan, I used the torque wrench with a 1/2" adapter to 3/8". It works fine....
