im thinking about a handle bars swap and was wondering what im up against as far as the cables and brake line..i have a manual but reading and doing the workcan be some what different.. im looking to go with streetbob bars..thank any advice
well i just bought the idle, brake and throttle cables, used off a streetbob ..still need to find a clutch cable ..i think with all the good advice here i'll be able to get it all together fine...
Did mine last weekend. Took about 4 hours. I don't have a manuel and things went pretty well. Just take your time so you don't get ahead of yourself. Bleeding the brake is worst part of it. I was dredding the clutch cable because it seemed like it would take the longest but it was a piece of cake compared to bleeding the brake line.
I went to a local auto parts chainstore and purchased a vacuum pump. This was prompted by an hour of trying to bleed the front brakes. The $25.00 I spent on the pump was well worth it after the frustration I put myself through. I have used it a couple time since. Less than five minute operation now.
