Hello all,

I'm in the process of finishing up my chrome fork sliders project and i'm a little lazy to check past posts on this stuff previously discussed to answer my question.

My question is on tightening the 6mm damper tube bolts. I know not to loctite, but does anyone recommend a little silicone or something? Don't want them to leak.Also, does anyone know offhand the torque amount needed for the bolt? The manual doesn't list in the fork install section (but it did give torque on pinch bolts on triple tree)

no sealant on the treads, it may even have a copper washer. i cant remember.
the torque on it isnt critical, 20 ft. lbs. should be adequate for that fastener

 

Thanks, it's a 98 dyna wide glide. They do have copper(brass?) washers. I got all new bolts and washers just in case. I thought the torque may be critical considering I used an Impact driver wrenchto get them off.
