Licence Plate Relocation ?

Licence Plate Relocation ?
Just wondering if anyone from Canada on this forum has installed a side mount licence plate holder and if so did you have to trim the plate at all ? I have a 2008 Street bob and was looking at one from kuryakyn i think part # 3173 not sure if this will work. Any help would be great.
