FXD lean angle/ground clearance
I had an '04 sporty - scraped the peg on the right, exhaust bolk on the right and kick stand on the left.
On the '05 FXDL - I scrape the footpegs everytime I go out! However, I ride pretty aggressively and I have forward controls. The boot scraping mentioned earlier has happened as well. I get a kick out of it though.
I also agree that the FXDL handles much easier than the sporty did. I think a lot of it has to do with the C.O.G. being lower on the FXDL.

HA HA HA HA HA HA,
My last Bike was a Honda CB900 Custom, thing was a buss. I've had other bikes that corner and lean like a ****. I recently bought a harley:
FXDWG, I took it out and well you know the limmits of the lean angle when you hear scrapage. On the wide glide thats the exhaust support bracket on the right side, left side does well enough. I looked under there and I has scraped the bolt clean down to and past the nut. I'm not the only crooked nut on that bike.
Riding a Harley is a completely different style of riding, I've riden damn near everything and I gotta say that if you get a Harley you need to adjust your riding style. I know it sounds like a contradiction but get an FXD and you need to ride with some dignity. No scraping ****, no going around corners at 30 MPH above recomended limmits. Harleys are cruisers and then some, its like the difference between driving a sports car and an 18 wheeler. Harleys are the 18 wheelers of Motorcycles (Gold wings are like Winebagos but thats another thread), you don't see 18 wheelers shooting the apex of turns or carving up mountain roads like a vette.
Lean to the left, ok. Lean to the right maybe 15 degrees and watch out for those turns with negative camber!
Ride on Brother of the Wind!
