wanna put some cycle shack slip ons on my o7 fxd, would i need to do a tune up at the stealers or can i just add them??? another ?, any1 got a 2up stock seat they dont want. cant afford what i want right now. thks all
You can do it but you bike will still be running factory lean. You'll want to add a fuel optimizer and a high flow air cleaner when you can later on. BTW I ran the cycle shacks for awhile and they are great pipes for the money.
Whatever you can afford to do to richen up the fuel mix, I would try to do it. As far as the Cycle Shacks go, I have the MTO129 turnout slips on my bike and they've kicked *** for cheap ever since I got em. Make sure the pipes are clean when you put them on cause one of mine has heat stains that just keep getting worse. Could be something other than dirty chrome but one stained and one didn't. Good mufflers though, all the way.
Articles I've read in M/C mags (not from HD) says you can either change mufflers or A/C without remapping. I would keep the stock mufflers and put them back on when/if you go in for service.
