Well that is an absolute insult to anything w/ an opposable thumb. $1300??? Has anyone ever seen thevideo of that dude that got pulled over by the highway patrol and was screaming in a pitch that only dogs can hear who then goes further into orbit when he sees how much the ticket is for? That is the image, in my mind, that I would be if I got told that bunch of crap.

The satisfaction of doing it yourself is Priceless. You can do it!!! Take your time, and step by step it will be completed. Lots of help here if ya get into a snaggletooth.

$1300 is nuts! Been thinkin about doing my own, especially with this forums good advice. My biggest fear is the throttle and clutch cables...seems difficult to hook up.

It kind of sounds like some of the dealerships are trying to make up for sagging bike sales with shop time and parts. If you take the same $1300.00 and do the job your self you would be able to add the bars, cables, chrome switch housings, chrome master cylinder, chrome lever mounts and maybe have a few bucks left over.

I got some new bars added to my old FXD for about $230, and I do not recall the price of the bar. I was doing it myself, but then the job called for a longer break line, and I did not want to that being a novice, and no real workshop.
