Forward Controls
ORIGINAL: Royce
Greg, thanks for the pictures and information. It looks like the issue may be a combination of where the forwards are installed and the clearance that you mentioned. The brake and shifter levers on the H-D forwards don't seem to be as wide as the Kury's. That may bethe issue. I've attached a couple of pictures of my bike. I'd appreciate your thoughts on them. Sorry the pics aren't clearer.

IMO...just be sure you "simulate"having forwards before taking the plunge. If you haven't already, have someone stand it up/balance it for you and extend your legs as if using forwards. I put the OEMs on my FXDB assumingthey were "forward"enough. I'm presently shopping around for extensions.
Good luck. By the way, $300 for labor sounds about right--often about a 3.5 hour job at their place, give or take.

Using mids, I get alot of leg cramps, so I wanted the forwards. Took some great advice from some on this site and got a close seat. Moved my modified pegs back to original position, felt great!
Got some Kuryakyn forwards, installed them fairly easily the other day (without instructions till the end, another story), and now everything fits perfectly for me.
So don't rush anything, feel the bike out first, figure out what suits you best before throwing cash into something you may or may not be comfortable with.
Also, you don't have to be a mechanic to do the forwards, fairly easy job.
